Phone customer service the worst in the industry that I know of. I would be filling bankruptcy if I ran my business this poorly. Faucet needs to be replaced as valve is busted. First Plumber canceled appointment on us before coming. We called to confirm they were still coming and told they cancelled appointment for later that day and would have to reschedule several days later. Second plumber came out and charged $100 "deductible" to be told they would have to replace the faucet but had to call Sears to see what they would cover. Got a call back that they would only cover a credit towards a new faucet but no labor. After navigating their terrible phone system and having to be transferred to claims was told labor should be covered and it would be escalated to manager to return call in 24 hours. 48 hours later still no call. Just got off phone with foreign customer service rep for 40 min as he attempted to reach a manager with no success. Said he can't give me a time line just that a manager would call at some point soon not sure if 24 or 48 hours but some point. Original call was made over a week ago. There are legitimate home warranty companies. Go with them not Sears Home Warranty!!!M W.
Customer service in Sears Home Warranty is the worst experience. They will make you hold more than 30 minutes, transfer you to more than 5 departments in one call and still not resolve your problem. They will lie. A supervisor is never available. They will tell you supervisor will call you within 24-48 business hours and that will never happen. It is not worth your money. They will give you a nightmare when trying to get something resolved. Do not buy Sears home warranty. I do not recommend at all.D M.
I bought an extended warranty for my hot water heater. In the explanation it said that I could get a yearly checkup. Well that’s a lie. When I call them and ask about it,they tell me that there is not a service man in the area and will get back to me. After a year and 3 more calls, still no service man in the area. Let me get this straight, I can buy an appliance from you in the area, you can sell me an extended warranty for that same appliance in the area, but you have no one to service it in the area. I was given a vendor who came to do the work. He did not fix the problem so I left two voice mails but he did not call me back. I called Sears home service. They referred me to a second vendor. The second vendor said he would not come and work behind a guy who didn't get the job done right. So I called Sears again who referred me to a third vendor. When I called him he said he didn't do work for Sears anymore because they didn't pay him in a timely manner. I had tied to speak to a supervisor at Sears with no success. Whenever on these and previous calls I have settled 39 minutes pet call and most of the time I couldn't understand the person I was talking to because they could barely speak English. I decided to cancel my contract with them because it was not worth the trouble and headache to try to get service. I would not recommend Sears home services to anyone!Jerry W.
They are eager to accept your money and IF you can get someone on the phone they will promise to get to the bottom of your issue (my cook top has been in pieces since may-it is now Nov.)-THIS IS THE WORST experience I have ever had. I am calling the better business bureau and I am filing a counter claim for the destruction of my stove top.Lori C.
Placed a claim on 10/4/18 for a washer. Tech came thought he fixed it... had to call for him to come back... Week later comes back said we need new panel. Came back on the 20th panel didn't work. He spoke to the service department to order new panel. Item sent on the 26th wrong part. I have called customer services at least a dozen times and have been told lies. They claim to be sending the part of on a certain day... when it doesn't come. I call back to find out it was supposedly shipped a different day. Forget trying to talk with a supervisor... they can't be found. There is no customer service... People have heavy accents. Cant understand. When I complain I am basically told will that's the way it is. It is now 11/4/18 and I still have no resolution... DO NOT buy this warranty. Nothing but a scam.Karen P.
We purchased the warranty after the third visit to repair my Kenmore Elite refrigerator. Two months later, my washer would not stop filling with water. I called the warranty company and they said that a technician could not come out for 10 days. Ok, bad but not horrible. After looking over the washer, he explained that the washer would need a valve and control arm. I would say that the technician was helpful, courteous and professional.
This visit was on 10/8. The parts were ordered and a follow up to repair the washer was set for 10/25. Understand, this is now a month without the washer. We did receive the valve but the control arm did not arrive. No one called us to cancel the visit. After repeated calling, the woman on the phone said that the control arm was unavailable and that they were looking for other vendors for the part. They could give me no date as to when the part would arrive. I have continued to call for an authorization to replace the washer, which they must do if they can not fix the appliance. As always, I am told that someone will call me back. Only once has someone contacted me and they said they must get an authorization to replace the appliance. That was two weeks ago.
This morning, I got the same story that someone was going to have to authorize a replacement. I asked to speak to the person who was going to authorize it and they explained that they could not. I explained that since I can not get service through the warranty, I will be cancelling. The young lady explained that I was locking in for 6 months. I explained that they could enjoy themselves trying to put through a charge on a credit card that was cancelled. Please, run from this company.Rich M.
Reading Violet ** review about the warranty, cancellation and terms and condition, I had the same experience with Sears. I signed up for the plan on 8/22/18, I do not have a name but, his technician id is: **. He signed me up with Sears Appliance Warranty Plan. He stated that at anytime I no longer wanted the plan, all I had to do was call and cancel it. At the time in question, there was nothing said about there being a penalty if the plan were to get canceled. In addition, it is now November 1, 2018 and I have still yet to receive a packet about Sears' services, or its terms and conditions. I am being told I owe $132.31 for cancelling my warranty service. Either the Technician did not have knowledge of how the plan works or he just lied about it.Steven F.
The worst service imaginable stay away at all costs. Had a part on back order forever, wanted to charge me for the service visit without providing service. Customer service is a nightmare try to get someone who speaks without a heavy accent and a phone that sounds like it was made at Toys R Us.Dennis W.
I purchased all of my appliances (Kenmore Elite) from Sears - stove, convection microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator... All purchased 5 years ago. My ice maker was having issues I could "live with" (stopped making ice and would occasionally leak), but I called Sears out once my dishwasher stopped working in May. Once the repair man fixed my dishwasher I asked him about my freezer/ice maker, and he encouraged me to sign up for the Sears Home Warranty plan. It was sold as $75 per additional repair (not visit, but repair), and if Sears couldn't fix the problem, they'd replace the appliance. Too good to be true, right?! Well it was. It is now almost November, and after 4-5 visits from a 3rd party vendor AND Sears most recently, I was told I have a "lemon," but since the door needs to be replaced, they don't cover that! And they will not replace the appliance (door is $800 and replacement around $1400), so here I am, having paid for their warranty program, been sold/told a lie, almost 7 months later, and still a broken freezer. Atrocious, unacceptable service. The people who answered the phone were decently nice, but the supervisors could not have been less understanding, less empathetic, and came to me with ZERO solutions other than "tough break, sorry." Sears should be ashamed of themselves. I am tempted to go to Best Buy and buy all new Samsung appliances just to get anything that reminds me of Sears out of my life... too bad I can't afford it, partially because I got conned into buying a false warranty plan.Dana L.
