In addition to your AARP Membership, other factors that affect your car insurance costs include: your driving record, how much you drive, coverage history, the vehicle you drive and where you live. We used the online quote feature on The Hartford’s website to compare premiums for two drivers with excellent driving records and a 3-year-old truck and SUV, respectively.
The monthly premium quoted was $90, or just under $700 per year in savings compared to the current policy. This initial quote relied on bundling auto and homeowner’s insurance for an additional 20% savings, so choosing vehicle coverage alone would cause the savings to drop a bit. Still, the difference is significant. Insurance costs may vary.
