Endurance Car Warranty Review

The Northbrook, Illinois-based Endurance car warranty started in 2006 and has built a reliable name for itself with a variety of coverage and service options, and a reputation for customer service and reliability. Endurance is uniquely positioned among competitors with two of the most recognized third-party accreditations in the industry: gold certification from the Vehicle Protection Association and Better Business Bureau (BBB) accreditation with an A+ rating.

Endurance manages contracts and administers its claims without using another company to service their contracts as some competitors do. It guides you through every step of the coverage and claims process, lending the company a strong reputation for customer service. The company offers multiple, easy-to-understand coverage options for consumers with different needs and budgets, and includes sample contracts on its website so consumers can see the exact terms before they buy. If you sign up and change your mind, Endurance allows you to cancel your policy within 30 days and get a full refund.

Endurance gets high marks for service during the claims process. The company works exclusively with service providers recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and offers roadside assistance and rental car coverage with all contracts.

Endurance Car Warranty Cost

Many factors go into determining the cost of an extended car warranty, such as the make, model, condition and age of the car, the length of the contract, your driving habits and the deductible. It is impossible to find specific price information due to all these variables, but Endurance says its plans cost on average anywhere from $350 to $700 per year. For specifics, you can get a free, no-obligation quote online or by phone from an Endurance representative.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, upfront costs for extended warranties can range from $1,000 to several thousand dollars, not including a deductible. The government agency recommends consumers find out in advance whether deductibles are charged per visit or per repair. You also need to determine whether there are limitations on how much the company will pay for towing and rental car expenses.

Endurance Car Warranty Complaints

When selecting an extended car warranty, it’s important to make sure the company backing the warranty is trustworthy. One good source to investigate is the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has noted a pattern of complaints about customer confusion in regards to what is covered under their warranty.

Positive reviews highlight the personal connection, praising individual service people who “answered every question I had,” “treated me like an individual,” “went above and beyond” and “put good customer service first.”

Negative reviews tend to revolve around customers waiting a long wait time on hold when calling Endurance, regional coverage issues or a policy cancellation that did not go through. There are also concerns about confusing or misleading advertising that make it seem the warranty provider is related to the manufacturer or dealer. These tactics are common among warranty providers, and Endurance includes regulated disclosures in its advertising. Among customers who understand what they are signing up for, Endurance seems to be highly considered.

Endurance Q&A

Why do I need an Endurance extended warranty for my vehicle?

If you plan to own your car well after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, an extended warranty can be a good investment. The warranty contract can cover costly repairs and help keep your vehicle on the road. Some extended warranties are transferable if you sell your car, which can increase the vehicle’s value.

When is the best time to buy a warranty from Endurance?

The earlier, the better. An extended warranty doesn’t become effective until after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, but you’ll pay a lot less for it when your car is newer. When you buy early, you are covering your vehicle for life with no risk of interruption.

Are there any benefits to using a direct provider like Endurance?

Dealership extended warranties may offer limited coverage and pricing options, but you can shop around among direct providers to find a policy that suits you. Be aware that not all third-party warranty providers are alike. Some warranty companies are brokers who sell service contracts for other extended warranty providers, and others manage their own warranty contracts and claims.

How does an extended warranty with Endurance work?

With an Endurance car warranty, there is a toll-free number to call to get help with a roadside emergency. The company dispatches roadside assistance and will either repair the problem or deliver the vehicle to a local, reputable mechanic. If your Endurance car warranty covers the repairs, the company pays the claim up front, so you have no out of pocket costs.

How would I transfer an Endurance car warranty contract when I sell my car?

To transfer an extended warranty with the sale of the vehicle, you will need to deal with some additional paperwork. You must fill out a warranty transfer form, provide information on the vehicle’s history along with regular maintenance and service records, get an inspection report and present the receipt of the sale. You may have to pay a transfer fee — and there is a limited time to do it. Not all extended warranties are transferable, however, and warranties may become non-transferrable under certain conditions, including lack of regular maintenance on the vehicle, so be sure to understand the terms and conditions of your warranty before you buy.

What’s the return policy on an Endurance extended warranty?

Not all providers allow you to cancel an extended warranty, but Endurance gives you 30 days to decide if the policy is right for you. If you change your mind within the first 30 days of signing up for coverage, you get a full refund.

Conclusion on Endurance Auto Warranty

Endurance is easy to work with, backed by solid financials and a strong reputation for paying claims. If you buy a transferable warranty, save all service-related paperwork and receipts because you will need these records to complete the transfer when you sell the vehicle.

If you’re in the market for an extended warranty, the Federal Trade Commission has some great advice to help you get started, which will likely point you in the direction of Endurance. The company has become an industry leader by making the warranty repair process easy for customers. For the most part, consumers seem to be happy working with Endurance.

I chose Endurance Extended Car Warranty Coverage because they were rated number one for extended warranties but What they DON'T tell you is that when you enter into coverage with them, if your mileage is not EXACT they will not cover a thing.

Paid monthly for six months and when I needed to use my extended warranty coverage, (TODAY) they would not cover a thing because there was a mileage discrepancy. I was told that I have 30 days to give the correct mileage but was NEVER told that upon inquiring about coverage.

Not to mention, I never received an email with my actual policy information until a month and a half later...I would have thought mileage would have been verified like all other companies do with the VIN but they said it is up to me to provide the EXACT mileage.

The individuals I spoke with did not care and had no compassion; Just no! We won't cover ANYTHING! Horrible Customer service at that So I wasted my money and time. Learned Lesson!

Said that I can go to any mechanic. I took my car to the Nissan dealer because my ac wasn’t blowing cold. After a week of being in the shop claim was approved. However they wanted to send their own parts and not cover all the labor.

I had to pay difference for a rental car plus labor and deductible. Rental only covered maximum 150. Worst investment ever

I do not recommend this company at all. It’s a Big rip off. Don’t do it! I’ve been with this company for about six months and pay my warranty on time.

My brake calipers froze up in my car. Soon as I heard the noise from brakes I went to a repair shop and the mechanic said I need brake calipers which I have in my warranty with Endurance. So my mechanic called them and they Denied my claim.

They tried to say that I was continuing driving on bad brakes like that doesn’t even make sense. “Who does that?” Smh. Also they tried to lie on the mechanic and said he gave some information that he did not give so they denied my claim.

They couldn’t even replace my little brake calipers. Imagine what they would say if it’s an Engine or transmission replacement. They are so quick to deny. It’s ridiculous. Endurance screwed me out of $800. I had to pay for service that was covered under my warranty but they denied.

Please ban this company and do not join their car warranty rip off service. Not unless you wanna be rip off!

My 92-year old mother has a 17 year-old Hyundai. She received a recall from Hyundai for some type of brake issue and was scheduled to take her car into the dealer next week to address the issue. Today she received a post-card from Endurance (similar to a robo-call, but through the mail) stating that she could be financially responsible for any necessary repairs to her vehicle and should be covered by a warranty.

She was concerned that this had something to do with her responsibility for the recall repairs and called the 877 number listed on the card. She apparently spoke to an agent, who, after totally confusing her and not addressing that confusion related to the recall, managed to get her credit card information over the phone. Fortunately, she was savvy enough to realize what she had done and cancelled her credit card a couple of minutes after hanging up.

I think it is despicable to take advantage of and prey on senior citizens like this. She insists that she had no idea exactly what she might be purchasing, but thought it was related to the Hyundai recall. Although her car is old, it is low mileage and she drives less than 600 miles a year. Whether Endurance is a legitimate company or not, asking for financial information over the phone without a potential client's clear understanding or documentation of what they may be purchasing is unprofessional and borders on fraud.

PLEASE! PLEASE! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. I have never been treated with so little respect. I’m having issues with the account manager now, once again they treating me like I did something wrong talking to me very hostile. Also, not easy to deal with at all. They will try anything to get out of paying.

Stay away. Had my van in shop for almost 2 months without approval to fix engine. Contacted bbb and they agreed to repair lifters in engine but not all the labor as they only pay a certain amount they have in guide. Had to pay $300 plus out of pocket to get van back. They will try and not pay as they did this for almost 2 months! Then when said and done they refused to pay for arms which are part of lifters and why lifters went. Bad company!!!!

This jokers tried everything they could not to pay my claim. My vehicle was in the shop for over 8 days with no approval to fix it. Then when they decided to approve it they only wanted to send their own part which was used and told the dealer it would take additional 3 to 5 days for that to come in. This is a rip off company and I will do everything in my power to make them feel some pain behind their tactics.

DO NOT deal with this company. I did not even take out a policy and yet they deducted the initial payment from my checking acct. unbeknownst to me until it showed up on my checking acct. statement. I have been going through hoops and hollers to get a refund. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing there. I have never been treated with so little respect. I don't think they are familiar with a refund process. And I plan to report this experience with the B.B.B.
