Starkey Hearing Aids Review

Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Minnesota, Starkey is one of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturers. The parent company, Starkey Hearing Technologies, owns four other hearing aid brands, including Audible, All American Hearing, NuEar and MicroTech.

About 25% of Americans aged 65 to 74 have disabling hearing loss, and that percentage jumps to 50% for those over 75. Yet only 30% of adults who could benefit from hearing aids have ever used them. These individuals can benefit from Starkey Hearing Aids because of the wide selection of devices available.

Starkey's proven to be every bad thing I had been told about hearing aids. Don't make the same mistake I made. If you purchased a pair of Starkey send them back. Don't believe what you heard my road back was Lexies. I think that they would be your way back to.

Give Lexies a chance. I purchased mine and don't receive any thang from any one. This is what Lexies done for me due to what Lexies done for me is reminded me there was a chance.

Do not believe this is a US manufacturer. I have waited 7 weeks for warranty replacement of a lost aid, but they say it will be another 3 weeks at best before they will receive the part from overseas. This in spite of the fact that dozens of air freight flights to Minneapolis will arrive in the next 3 days.

The part must weigh less than the 1 gram that my other aid weighs. The Apple app for Bluetooth connectivity is 4+ years old, and when I complain to my provider that it does not work, he blames apple for updating its OS.

After having spent thousands of dollars on hearing aids which wound up in the junk drawer and having gotten tired of being unable to participate in conversations and listen to my music (I have a large collection of albums and CDs), I, with the recommendation of my audiologist, a tenured Professor of Audiology who was retiring and had told me that my hearing objectives were "unrealistic", finally, because of my 'nagging wife', went to the Professional Hearing Aid Center in Hackensack, NJ, where I was fitted with a pair of Starkeys, that now come off only when I sleep and shower.

What a pleasure to have gotten back the gift of hearing! PS. From my experience, I believe that many of the problems people have, regardless of the brand of the hearing aid, originate with dispensers who understand the client's hearing problems, and are unable because of the time restrictions of their practice or lack of knowledge of fitting aids, to customize the fit of a complex precision instrument, to match the client's hearing loss. It took me several appointments lasting more than two hours each, to achieve my 5-star fit. PS.

I have purchased two sets ($10,000 ) of Starkey in the ear hearing aids over the past years. First pair were under warranty but the dealer would not stand behind the warranty.

Second pair from a different dealer. The left hearing aid continually quit working from day one and had to be sent in for repair numerous times. I would NEVER buy anything from Starkey again and would highly advise others not to buy from them.

I've had Starkey hearing aids for five years and never once had a problem. I just received the latest hearing aids and look forward to using them with the same confidence I had with the ones replaced. Thanks Starkey for a great product, made in America. Rev Ron **.

Machines are very good. Morning to night I am warning. I purchased from Hearfon, Malleswaram, Bangalore last year March. Today I had gone there to give my machines to the yearly services.

Service Center is in Delhi it seems. They have to send there & it takes 3 weeks time. I felt very bad. Even Though Bangalore is metro city why there is no service center. Without hearing 3 weeks means..!! Or they have to provide alternate solution. Really very angry.

Last year I purchased Starkey hearing aids. Have never worn a hearing aid before and recently have relocated to Las Vegas from Hawaii. Knowing very little about what is available, I paid over $6000 for the product.

I have now lost one of the hearing aids because they do Not fit behind my ear. I have to wear glasses all the time which takes up little space left behind the ear. Can't tell you how many times they have fallen out of my ear. Until now, I had been able to find the hearing aid.

Try looking all over in a Walmart--it's not easy. I know there is a "find your hearing aid" on the app. but when the battery dies, then what?

The technology of the product is very good but I cannot use the hearing aid because of lack of space behind the ears. It was a huge loss of money.

I worked for Beltone many years ago and never had the need to take notice of the different makes and models. Now I have a 70 percent hearing loss after wearing a headset for 16 years. I was fitted for 2 digital Starkeys and they are fantastic.

I have the ITE and they are so tiny, no one even knows I am wearing any. I can't say enough about them. I recommend them if anyone has a hearing loss and are tired of repeating, what, what, all the time. Remember, most of the time you need clarity, not something louder which only distorts everything. I was fitted by Clear Ear!!!! Love them!!!!

Terrible. Have constant sizzle sound in the background. Very poor noise cancellation.a Said to work with Android app, but doesn't. Poorly trained fitter who seemed overwhelmed getting the equalization curve to compensate for my loss curve. Ended up sounding tinny. Frequently had issues with momentary feedback squeals. Android app looks like it's the most capable in the business, but continually stops working. Took the aids back for a refund. But the problems with Android app compatibility may be fixed when the Android 10 update becomes available.
